Prof. Dr. Daniela Hunold has been Professor of Sociology with a focus on Empirical Police Research at the HWR Berlin since the summer semester 2022. She was previously Head of Unit for Crime Analysis at the Bremen State Office of Criminal Investigation and a post-doc at the German Police University Münster. She completed her doctorate in a Franco-German project on the relationship between police and young people in multi-ethnic societies at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg i.Br. Her research focuses on the police and police action in the immigration society as well as critical spatial sociology. She has been Director of the FÖPS Berlin since 2025.
